A Tennessee man has been arrested after shooting at a family of six who happened to be sledding on a hill near his property on Friday. The family had walked to the hill from their home.
Aaaaand this story makes waaay more sense given that photo!
Yes, Benjamin Cook of Harrison, Tennessee, shot at a family of six and just about ended the life of one of the children.
Apparently he had enough energy to go grab his rifle, load it up, walk within range of the family, and take a few shots, but he didn't have the energy to walk down the street, communicate with the sledding family, and resolve the issue like a normal person.
Worst part of the story right here:
[A]t around 11:30 a.m., the family said they heard gunshots coming from the direction of a house down the hill near the 10400 block of Birchwood Pike. The mother said she observed snow fly up from the ground just a couple of feet from her one-year-old son.
Dude almost killed a baby because a family was sledding near his property!
The parents, of course, yelled at the man and tried to get his attention, but quickly gathered up their things and left. They phoned police once they got home.
Luckily, nobody was hit by the shots.
Neighbors had photographed Cook with the rifle earlier in the day, and, upon review of this -- as well as hearing reports from the family -- police arrested him and charged him with six counts of aggravated assault.
A troubling story, but at least Cook isn't a good shot.
This could've been much, much worse.
