The Lone Star State has officially become the first state in the Union to legally enact a fetal heartbeat law after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a challenge by pro-abortion acolytes.
Many states have passed such laws in recent years, putting limitations on abortions that exist in many countries (the U.S. is only one of a few including communist dictatorships to allow a baby to be ripped apart en utero up to 9 months).
However, state and federal courts have blocked each and every one of these attempts.
Until now.
A Texas law banning abortions after a fetal heartbeat can be detected went into effect on Wednesday morning after the Supreme Court and a federal appeals court failed to act on emergency requests to stay the law.
The law was signed by Governor Greg Abbott in May, and has been challenged by various abortion providers. A fetal heartbeat can usually be detected at about the sixth week of pregnancy. Twelve other states have passed fetal heartbeat laws but they have all been struck down by the courts, making Texas the first state to successfully implement the measure, according to the Associated Press.
The Supreme Court has traditionally ruled that any restrictions on abortion must be past the point of viability โ that is, the ability of the child to survive outside the womb.
In recent years, new tech has allowed us to save babies earlier and earlier, but a law like this would effectively make abortion illegal after about 6 weeks instead of 18-20 weeks.
That's a big deal.
Of course, the totalitolerant Left is fuming about this.
Yes, the idea that thousands upon thousands of people will live instead of dying is "devastating" to the ACLU.
But that's not all.
They are literally, actually comparing Americans who want to protect innocent life to the Taliban. For real.
How does one even come to such a conclusion? Seriously, how brainwashed into an ideology do you have to be to think those trying to save babies (AND care for women, mind you) are comparable to bloodthirsty terrorists that rape children and behead dissidents???
This is the fight of our lives, people. Just as history remembers the fight to end chattel slavery, it will remember the fight to preserve the life and liberty of the unborn.
Buckle up, have courage, and keep going. Millions of lives are at stake, and we have been put here in this time and place for a purpose!
I'll leave you with some food for thought from a cool guy I know:
