The 2022 USA Mullet Championships are underway to see who has the most serious business up front and the wildest party in the back.

You may have thought that the mullet craze had faded away in the early '90s and been shorn back to just an object of ridicule by David Spade.

But how do you stop a hairstyle that has been around since Homer described the Abantes spearmen in the Iliad as having "their forelocks cropped, hair grown long at the back."

And let's not forget our rich mullet history in America.

And for some reason, the pandemic brought the mullet raging back for men and women.

And that's why in 2020, Bridge Street Exchange began the USA Mullet Championships.

There are cash prizes for four groups: kids, teens, men, and femullets.

Here are the 2022 kids and teens winners.

The men's competition is currently underway, and you can participate by voting for your favorite mullet on USA Mullet Championships' Facebook page.

To vote, just like an image. The second round will narrow down the contestants to the top 100, then the final round will be the top 25.
