The Bee is Back and the Fascists are Fuming

The ongoing Twitter tantrum taking place in progressive circles, both on the radical Left and in mainstream liberalism, is as astounding as it is hilarious.

Every move that is now made by the platform's new owner Elon Musk is met with such a conspicuous weeping and gnashing of teeth, a fair-minded person cannot observe it and fail to be flabbergasted at the degree to which progressives seem to believe they are entitled to always getting their way.

Last week, I documented the gastric torment experienced by many of the effete leftists when Musk broke the news that commoners would be allowed to purchase blue checkmarks moving forward. It wasn't that the $8 fee broke their budgets, it was that the sophistication and status they enjoyed as members of the blue-check club was now being opened up to the unwashed masses.

Then, Musk had the audacity to start holding his employees to completely normal expectations – wild ideas like:

  • Don't publicly trash the company you work for
  • Don't publicly vilify the company's new direction
  • Don't publicly convey the idea that your boss is Satan
  • Show up to work on time and in person

A staggering number of these tech-savvy Gen-Zers couldn't manage to follow those kinds of basic guidelines that have governed the employer/employee relationship since the dawn of man, and were consequently fired. At that point they dutifully climbed up on their crosses and arrogantly pretended to be martyrs.

But the worst blow was still to come. At 1:25 ET last Friday, it happened:

Along with the Bee, conservative philosopher Jordan Peterson was released from Twitter prison, and it was as if millions of progressive Karens cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. "Investigative journalist" Dave Troy declared it all an act of war:

CBS News was so concerned they decided to shut the whole thing down until they could figure out what was going on.

That lasted a day.

Democrat fundraiser and activist Rick Wilson sees no other option but for Joe Biden to step in:

That's an interesting take from Wilson given that just a few years ago he had a pretty apt description for people who would suggest such a thing.

Meanwhile, other pseudo journalists like CNN's Oliver Darcy, a man who has spent years learning the art of reporting as the less-capable sidekick to Brian Stelter, were less than pleased:

Of course, the irony here is that if Darcy truly cared about his profession, he would be elated. In fact, that he was content with the silencing of the Bee to begin with tells you all you need to know about Darcy and his fellow leftists' commitment to freedom of expression and the right to voice contrarian views.

Remember, this was never about comedy. While the release of the Bee has been heralded as the "return of comedy" to Twitter, what actually earned them the suspension wasn't a joke. It was a scientifically valid statement that has become verboten by the Left's fascistic agenda: that Richard "Rachel" Levine is a man.

For as much as the Left loves to wring their hands about Donald Trump's "coup attempt," there is unquestionably one side of the political divide that is using every opportunity to enforce speech codes on everyone. Fail to tell the lies they demand you tell and they will see to it that you are shamed and your ability to engage in economic intercourse be utterly strangled.

I don't care if you find The Babylon Bee funny. In fact, if you're a leftist I would be shocked if you did given that the Bee regularly torches and grills up your sacred cows with precision. But if you believe jokes that offend your sensibilities, or scientifically defensible statements that are an affront to your agenda should be suppressed and stifled, you're far closer to Mussolini than Donald Trump ever has been.
