Biden admin to tear down William Penn statue from the site of his home, replace it with Native American monument. Here's why that's particularly ironic.

There's not a single statue of a white male that the Democrats aren't willing to tear down at this point.

The Biden admin is planning to tear down a statue of William PENN from the site of PENN's historic home commemorating the founding of PENNsylvania!

So, there's going to be no more William Penn to welcome you to Pennsylvania, but don't worry, they already have a more "inclusive" plan to replace the foreboding Christian male.

The park, located in Philadelphia near the Delaware River at Sansom and Second Streets, will be "rehabilitated" and that proposal will include an "expanded interpretation of the Native American history of Philadelphia." The plan was "developed in consultations with the representatives of the indigenous nations of the Haudenosaunee, the Delaware Nation, Delaware Tribe of Indians, the Shawnee Tribe, and the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma."

They're removing the statue of the founder of Pennsylvania and the model of his home to make way for a Native American heritage display.

There's nothing wrong with educating people about Native American history - heck, Penn would have promoted it! - but to erase and replace the memorial built on the man's home is a bit on the nose.

Especially when it comes to William Penn.

Penn took great pains to forge friendships and treaties with local tribes, making sure they were treated justly and with respect.

American Indians in colonial times had no better friend than William Penn.

But that won't stop the Left from tearing down his statue. They hate him primarily because he's a straight white Christian man who represents everything they oppose today. The man was a shining example of the religious liberty that founded this nation, founding his colony as a "holy experiment" of people from every tribe and tongue forming a society around Christ instead of tyrants.

He was a template for existing peacefully with other cultures in peace. He founded Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, which became the meeting place for the Founders when they signed the Declaration of Independence and met as the Continental Congress a century later.

In other words, Penn represents everything the Orwellian Left wants to erase and replace.

Fischer King on Twitter sums up what we're dealing with well:

Seeing this removal of the William Penn statue forces me to beat a dead horse. When people took down Confederate statutes as ‘traitors,' they meant treason to the values of today, what we think right now.

They aren't really talking about treason in 1861 because they don't know anything about what that meant. People who talk this way are historically illiterate, have no understanding of the competing loyalties that someone like James Longstreet or Robert E Lee had to deal with - the basic tragedy that people find themselves in.

By taking down the statues of these men, we set the stage for future atrocities, like this Penn business. This won't stop at any point until we put our collective foot down, and simply tell these animals NO. Even then it will take years of education to explain to people why this nonsense is unacceptable.

Until we put our foot down, we can expect all the statues to come down one by one.

Public comment on the removal will apparently be available at this link until January 21, though it has not appeared on the National Park Service's site as of time of publishing.

I'll leave you with this: On August 12, 1684, William Penn wrote this to the citizens of Philadelphia:

O that thou may be kept from the evil that would overwhelm thee, that faithful to the God of thy mercies, in the life of righteousness, thou mayest be preserved to the end. My soul prays to God for thee, that thou mayest stand in thy day of trial, that thy children may be blessed of the Lord, and thy people saved by his power.
