This kind of stuff isn't even all that surprising anymore, but imagine outlining this horror show to anyone living a decade ago:

Department of Defense Instruction 1300.28, updated on Dec. 20, 2022, has changed the official vocabulary of this pseudo-science, using the phrase "self-identified gender" instead of "preferred gender" throughout. ...
The transgender machine is becoming ever-more ideologically refined and ever more exacting in the enforcement of its bizarre mandates.
And the consequences grow ever-more serious:
The DOD Instruction stipulates that if a person "self-identifies" as a person of the opposite sex, and if the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) changes a person's bureaucratic "gender marker," a man claiming to be a woman must be treated as a woman, and vice versa. ...
Once a military doctor approves, transgender transition can be deemed "complete" with or without surgical alteration of healthy body parts. At that point, as the DOD Instruction states several times: "[S]ervice members will use those berthing, bathroom, and shower facilities associated with their gender marker in DEERS."
That's all it takes: Say you're a woman and you get access to all the vulnerable, intimate spaces to which women have access.
The Army is indicating that female soldiers who voice concerns about the whole setup just need to deal with it:
Soldiers must accept living and working conditions that are often austere, primitive, and characterized by little or no privacy.
Sorry, ladies!
This is really setting our military up for success.
