But really, I was having conversations with my neighbors and friends and family about inflation two weeks into lockdowns. I saw people really start to talk about it in fall 2020 after stimmie money was flowing like water, and people noted that continued government spending under Biden was likely to make inflation worse.

I literally heard this from dozens of average, run-of-the-mill people with no formal training in economics.

Heck, we've covered it extensively at the Bee for a year straight. I was saying it in April when I shared Ronald Reagan's warning with y'all:

Is our expert class truly dead? Are they so separated from reality that they can't see what 95% of people knew was inevitable?
