Episcopal Church removes Saint George's Cross, adds "Pride" colors on shield logo

You know, sometimes I scroll right past things that are too bizarre because I think, "There's no way this isn't a parody."

This was almost one of those times:

There's no earthly way that the Episcopal Church, as woke as they are, would have created a "Pride" shield. Is there?

So I Googled it. And I found it.

If you showed this to an Episcopalian 150 years ago they'd say, "What the heck is that?" And then after you explained to them what the "pride" movement was, they'd probably laugh in your face and not believe you.

But it's 2024, and Episcopalians are redesigning their historic and iconic church's shield to mimic the "Pride Progress" flag.

Let me give a brief history lesson on why this is so crazy.

The red cross with a white background is Saint George's Cross, which is the English flag (the Union Jack of the wider United Kingdom of Britain also uses it).

Saint George was not English, but he was a famous figure in Christendom. The story goes that George of Lydda was a Roman military officer under Roman Emperor Diocletian in the third century AD, and that he chose to be executed rather than recant his faith in Jesus Christ. He is a pivotal figure because his martyrdom came right before Emperor Constantine came to power, converted to Christianity, and established it as the religion of the Roman Empire.

Saint George is most famously known for a later legend from the 11th century onward where he slayed a dragon that was terrorizing a city in North Africa (modern day Libya).

In the 1550s under the English Reformation, St. George became the patron saint of the nation. That legacy continued well into modern times: Winston Churchill's personal aircraft during WW2 was named "Ascalon" after the dragon St. George killed.

In artwork stretching back beyond this 600-year-old painting, St. George is depicted with a red cross on a white field:

This was painted in 1434 by Spanish artist Bernat Martorell

Modern art depicts him the same way:

Do you see the significance of what the Episcopal Church has done?

THEY ERASED THE 500-YEAR-HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH REFORMATION THAT ESTABLISHED THEIR DENOMINATION, BUILT UPON THE MARTYRDOM OF A 1,700-YEAR-OLD SAINT WHO DIED FOR JESUS CHRIST, AND REPLACED IT WITH THE GAY COMMIE RAINBOW.

Seriously.

Here's what the church, which is a mere skinsuit of a dead Christian faith, said about their new Pride logo:

In affirmation and celebration of The Episcopal Church's LGBTQ+ members, the Office of Communication is pleased to unveil a new Pride shield available online for churchwide use.

The design retains the upper-left blue corner of The Episcopal Church's shield logo and incorporates elements of the traditional Pride flag as well as the Progress Pride flag and Philadelphia Pride flag. In their use of black, brown, pink, and light-blue diagonal lines, the latter two flags represent intersectional progress in acknowledging people who are often overlooked by the mainstream LGBTQ+ movement: communities of color; the transgender community; and the many thousands harmed by anti-LGBTQ+ policy โ€” from those who lost their lives in the AIDS crisis of the 1980s and โ€˜90s, to those still disproportionately impacted today.

One more rainbow they need to add!

Now it's perfect.

Guys, I've seen gay churches before. But this takes the cake! Maybe the Catholic pope needs to speak about this.

I didn't think the woke Episcopalians could embarrass themselves more!
