The fertility crisis is so bad that Philadelphia is offering women $1,000 per month to have babies.

Everyone is aware of the baby bust hitting the world as more and more young women are choosing either to not have children in favor of their career or to put off having children until very late in life.

There are some good options for fixing the fertility crisis.

For example, a stronger patriarchy and Christian values lead to more fertility.

But the Left thinks that's just dystopian and shouts, "Are we living in The Handmaid's Tale?"

What's their solution?

Take a look at Philadelphia, where the government is paying women to have children.

That's right. Starting in 2024, the city will pilot a program where 250 women will get paid $1,000 per month for having a baby. The payments will start in the third month of pregnancy and run until the child's first birthday, no strings attached.

Dr. Stacey Kallem, director of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health's Division of Maternal, Child, and Family Health, said: 'The no-strings-attached' is key:

We are respecting the dignity and autonomy of program participants to use the funds as they see fit to improve their health and the health of their babies.

On the other hand, the mothers could also not spend the money on improving health.

That aside, even assuming the best case scenario, if we do the math here, the program would only result in 250 babies, which isn't really going to solve much.

And it's only available in three areas of the city selected along racial lines for equity's sake, you know.

I guess maybe that could work. There were numerous studies that showed welfare from the 1970s the 1990s incentivized single motherhood, especially along racial lines. A quick look at any inner city will show you how that program worked out!

But if you're not the right race for the program, and you don't have the means to sue the city of Philadelphia for discrimination, there's always virtual children in the metaverse.
