Do y'all remember this crazy story from last year?
Jared Bridegan was a 33-year-old Microsoft executive who divorced his first wife, Shanna, in 2016 after she allegedly had an affair. The two are both from Mormon families. They had continued a bitter years-long battle in court over finances and their twin children, even as Jared remarried and had more children.
Last February, Jared was driving his SUV with his 2-year-old daughter near their home in Florida when he came across a tire that had been placed in the road. He got out to move it and was instantly cut down with a hail of bullets.
The police say the placement of the tire and the sheer number of bullets used to ensure he was dead point to a hit job.
Now, as police say they are planning to arrest someone, his ex has packed their two kids up and moved to a six-bedroom, four-bathroom house in Washington state.
From Fox News:
The ex-wife of slain Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan has moved 2,800 miles from Florida to the Pacific Northwest as investigators are about to announce that an arrest is imminent in the unsolved murder, Fox News Digital has learned.
Nearly one year after the father of four was executed in front of his toddler, Bexley, in north Florida, Shanna Gardner-Fernandez quietly uprooted her 10-year-old twins she shared with Bridegan and relocated to West Richland, Washington.
When asked Monday to comment on the significant development in the case, she responded, "No, I'm sorry." Minutes later, she was spotted in her white Tesla in a grocery store parking lot, speaking on her cellphone.
Jared had two kids with his second wife, Kirsten, who says Shanna cut off all communication with her after Jared's death. Jared and Shanna's two children have not seen their half-siblings since.
"It's been an added loss," she said. "On top of losing Jared, my children have lost their siblings. I've lost my step-kids. I have tried for months and months to make contact and have gotten nowhere."
Shanna also remarried to a man named Mario Fernandez, who reportedly hasn't moved with the rest of the family to Washington. The house she is living in was paid for by a company affiliated with her mother, who started the paper company Stampin' Up.
So... those are the details.
Is this a case of reporting that is haranguing a grieving widow who has been the subject of international tabloids over the last year, or is there more to the story?
Who actually murdered Jared Bridegan?
Few details have been released about the investigation, a joint effort by the Jacksonville Beach Police Department and the State Attorney's Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit led by Melissa Nelson.
