Welp, Klaus Schwab is out at the World Economic Forum, but the guy stepping in as interim chair might be an even more creepy, over-the-top Bond villain than Klaus was, and that's saying something.
Meet Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, the former CEO of NestlΓ© and interim chair of the WEF (he previously served as vice chair):
First of all, Brabeck-Letmathe is such a perfect villain name. So ominous.
He last made headlines when he declared that access to clean water was not a "human right" and that access to tap water should be controlled by corporations.
Water is, of course, the most important raw material we have today in the world. It's a question of whether we should privatize the normal water supply for the population. And there are two different opinions on the matter. The one opinion, which I think is extreme, is represented by the NGOs, who bang on about declaring water a public right. That means that as a human being you should have a right to water. That's an extreme solution.
But wait ... what's going on with his eye??
Ok, is the WEF trolling us at this point?
Bond villains always seem to have an issue with one of their eyes.
I mean, just look ...
Brabeck-Letmathe's eye condition is apparently caused by an undisclosed illness, and NestlΓ© refuses to explain further.
Sounds like someone has been experimenting too much with death rays.
