Sadly, Pope Francis has passed away, but the Catholic Church does not have a lot of time to mourn his passing.
The gathering of the Cardinals for the papal conclave has to happen in the next 15-20 days; where they'll cast votes until a majority selects the next pope. Until then, the Camerlengo is in charge of the Vatican, and that happens to be a dude from Dublin named Kevin.
Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell to be exact.
The media call him an ultra-conservative; for example, he vehemently opposed same-sex marriage in contrast with Francis's okaying blessing of same sex couples (though not their marriage per se).

Catholics, can you write your cardinal like you write a senator and tell him who to vote for?

Because right now, our man Kevin isn't considered to be the frontrunner in the papal race.
The current frontrunner, at least in leftist circles, is the progressive Luis Antonio Tagle of the Philippines, who would be the first Asian pope.
Tagle is big on all the woke stuff: Climate change, inclusion, social justice, equity — the works. He was a noted part of Francis's inner circle.
‘Overall, I think the fact that by my count over 100 of the eligible papal electors were appointed by Francis could have a profound effect on the outcome,' said Cristina Traina, a professor at Northwestern University. ‘That is, we may not get a pendulum swing away from Francis' priorities.'
And if you need any more convincing between the two, consider this:
While, I know the popes usually change their names when they get the white smoke of approval, I think, if we're honest, Protestants and Catholics can come together and agree on this one thing:
Pope Kevin has a way better ring to it than Pope Tagle.
