Here we are, ladies and gentlemen!
(Profuse apologies for the horrific transphobia in that previous sentence.)
The Church of Sweden -- which happens to be the largest Lutheran denomination in all of Europe, and the single largest Christian denomination in Sweden -- just announced that it, as a denomination, is trans.
Here is the announcement from the church. For those of you who don't speak Swedish or Postmodern Wokeish, I shall describe some bits for you below.
The piece is titled, "Personal letter to you who are trans." It was written by four priests, an author, and the diocese's communications officer, and is signed by almost 1,000 priests, deacons, and members, according to this article which is wildly celebrating it.
The letter states:
We are writing to you from a church that is also trans.
A church is made up of people. People are different. We have religious teachers, employees, churchwardens, elected representatives, non-profits and other parishioners who define themselves as transgender people.
The church thus also consists of transgender people. Therefore, the church could be described as trans.
The church is coming out as transgender. Got that?
The denomination goes on to say:
We mourn the part of feminism that has fought for its rights and that now wants to limit yours.
The church celebrates women's rights and feminism. And it mourns that some women do not wholeheartedly embrace a postmodern worldview that allows anyone to identify as a woman. Got that?
The letter continues:
It is sad that groups, organizations and individuals who are responsible for this hatred have a place in front of the microphones, on the debate pages, in the cultural programs and on the TV couches. This contributes to the normalization of trans hate.
The church says that if you do not completely reject the clear biblical and biological view of God's creation and embrace the new religion of sexual fluidity, then you are full of hate and should not be allowed to have a voice in society. Cuz that's what God wants. Got that?
In the last bit of this insanity I will subject you to, the Church of Sweden goes on to condemn trans-exclusionary feminism by comparing it to "radical right-wing Christian groups and right-wing populists."
Trans-exclusionary feminists are like radical right-wing Christian groups?
I ... uh ... nope, I'm lost now. I just ... nope. That's all I've got. This article is ending now.
