Biden's dogs were just sent home because one bit a security member. Let's imagine if Trump had brought German Shepherds into the White House and one bit somebody right away...

For months, the media has fawned over Champ and Major, the two German Shepherd fur babies of Joe and Jill Biden.

We've heard how Major is the first shelter dog to be in the White House (how cute!), how they like to frolic in the snow (even cuter!), and how they are two very, very good boys. If you missed the stories because you were busy trying to feed your family while the government had your business shut down, here were a few of the headlines:

These dogs are part of the package that is Captain Unity, Joe Biden himself.

They were expressly used by the media as a contrast to former President Trump. Take a look at this

">headline from WaPo in 2019 as an example of how they used his lack of a dog to paint him negatively:

I mean, who doesn't want a dog?? You'd have to be a heartless Nazi not to welcome such a bundle of joy and love into your home!

And that was the point.

And so, along came Major and Champ to help Joe restore the soul of America. That is, until the 3-year-old Major bit a White House security member:

"Major, who was adopted by Biden in November 2018 from a Delaware animal shelter, had what one of the people described as a 'biting incident' with a member of White House security," wrote CNN. "The exact condition of the victim is unknown, however, the episode was serious enough that the dogs were subsequently moved to Wilmington, Delaware, where they remain."

You can practically hear the tears being choked back as CNN realizes they might never get to write about Major's favorite chew toy as Biden continues signing executive orders in the background.

CNN felt it was very important in the scheme of everything else happening in the world to explain the situation in detail. Sure, gas prices are skyrocketing, there's a crisis at the border, the Cold War with Russia is heating up again, China is plotting world domination, and mental health is at an all-time low, but this is super, duper important stuff!

"Major, who is 3 years old, is the younger of the two Biden dogs, and has been known to display agitated behavior on multiple occasions, including jumping, barking, and 'charging' at staff and security, according to the people CNN spoke with about the dog's demeanor at the White House. The older of Biden's German Shepherds, Champ, is approximately 13 and has slowed down physically due to his advanced age."

All of my mockery here is silly, but that's purposeful. I'm tired of the fluff pieces and the fawning of the media. I'm sure Champ and Major are wonderful dogs, but the media took them and puffed them up into national icons of love, civility, and unity. They were promoted heavily on events like the "Puppy Bowl" and an "Indoguration" with Josh Groban.

You have to appreciate the irony of how these symbols of Biden's brand of uNiTy have already been sent to the literal doghouse for a violent incident. Of course, I could have told you how "unifying" these pups were a few months back when Biden's extended family gave them a Trump doll to shred:

Can you imagine if these were Trump's dogs? We've have wall-to-wall coverage detailing the connections to police dogs and how German Shepherds were used in war by the Nazi!

Our fearless leader Adam Ford shared this in the NTB Slack this morning:

Scott Adams tweeted this minutes later:

You know they're both right.

I wish the pups well, but I wish the media would get back to their dang jobs of "speaking truth to power."
