We know that the ongoing nationwide worker shortage has led to a shortage of school bus drivers so severe that some school authorities have been paying parents to drive kids to school.

Apparently the driver shortage continues to be so acute that one school field trip was forced to use a bus that would normally be filled with strippers:

Students in Boston rode a party bus, complete with a stripper pole and neon lights, on a field trip due to the ongoing national school bus driver shortage.

Eleventh grade AP Language & Composition teacher at the Brooke Charter School in Boston, Jim Mayers tweeted about the experience on Sept. 17.

"It is a funny story, but there actually is a real bus shortage and it speaks to major flaws in our education system," said Mayers. "This in no way is a reflection of anyone involved in planning the trip, we were trying to have a fun day with the kids and that's exactly what happened."

Mayers has since deleted the tweet, explaining on Twitter beforehand that he felt too much attention was being given to the story and not enough to the "many systemic issues" facing the educational system.

However, archives of his tweet were still available online on Tuesday:

As the old activist slogan goes: "It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a stripper bus." Or something like that!
