The New York Times actually published a piece saying DEI trainings don’t work and probably make things worse

Yes, you read that correctly. The New York Times, bastion of all things woke, published a piece with actual research on Diversity Equity and Inclusion trainings in the workplace and found that the trainings either have zero effect or make things worse for everyone.

There have only been two large studies attempted to evaluate the effects of diversity trainings. In one of those studies, sociologists Frank Dobbin and Alexandra Kalev wrote,

We have been speaking to employers about this research for more than a decade with the message that diversity training is likely the most expensive, and least effective, diversity program around.

And in many cases it makes things worse.

One example given was the time the Smithsonian had to walk back its claim that "objective, rational, linear thinking," "quantitative emphasis," "hard work before play," "having no tolerance for deviation from a single god concept" were aspects of whiteness.

In my personal experience, I have had some interesting DEI trainings.

My favorite was an immersive, choose your own adventure training where I was Maggie, a new hire who gets sexually harassed by her manager.

It was rather explicit harassment too. In the end, Maggie was told not to contact HR, and she does the right thing by giving her resignation.

While I laughed out loud several times during the course of the training, I kept wondering if anyone in management had actually reviewed the course, or how it wouldn't make things worse for the Maggies of the world.

The most shocking thing about all of this isn't that there are professors putting their careers on the line to push back against the woke flow; it's that The New York Times allowed this article to see the light of print at all.

What's next?

Will they print an article about how the decline of Christianity in the West has led to a proportional decline in morality?
