The Senate Armed Services Committee just voted to force America's daughters to register for the draft

Yay for equality!

The Senate Armed Services Committee has approved language in its annual defense policy bill that would require women to register for the draft.

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) approved by the committee behind closed doors Wednesday "amends the Military Selective Service Act to require the registration of women for Selective Service," according to a summary released Thursday.

Selective Service currently requires young men between 18 and 25 to register for the draft or forfeit federal benefits like student loan eligibility. The new language for draft eligibility in the new $778 billion defense budget drops the term "men" in lieu of "all Americans."

Congress has been debating whether to expand the registration requirement to women since all combat jobs were opened to female service members in 2016.

That year, both the House and Senate Armed Services committees included a requirement for women to register in their initial versions of the NDAA.

The House cut the provision because of those evil conservatives, who for some reason have an issue with compelling women to fight in the military. If they don't do the same this year, America's daughters will be required to register for the draft.

Last year, that commission recommended draft registration be expanded to include women, calling it a "necessary and fair step."

Senate Armed Services Chairman Jack Reed (D-R.I.) earlier this year hinted the changes to the draft would make it into his committee's NDAA, saying he hoped to incorporate the commission's recommendations "in large part."

The Supreme Court also refused to hear a case on a women's draft last month, saying it believed Congress would act on the issue soon.

Personally, this seems like a great option. Since our daughters are losing all their athletic scholarships to biological males and our sons are all yearning to compete in women's sports, we're going to need someone to fight our wars for us!

Take it away, Batman!
