The Supreme Court has lifted a lower court's injunction on President Donald Trump's ban on transgender military members. This means the military will immediately discharge trans military members and will no longer recruit them.
Trump argues that the president has broad deference in shaping the military, and that bringing in people who, until recently, would have been considered mentally ill is not a good idea.

The Pentagon has estimated that more than 4,200 active service members have a diagnosis of gender dysphoria. This is the military's metric for tracking the number of transgender troops.
That means there will be no more headlines like these for a while. π
Ultimately, trans military members might still succeed in their lawsuit over the ban.
But during the first Trump administration, a trans ban was in place for the whole four years. The Supreme Court upheld that ban, so I have faith that for the next few years at least, our military will be sans trans.
