The U.N. says $6 billion from Elon Musk could solve world hunger and the Dogefather is calling their bluff

The U.N. has a budget of $8.4 billion to address world hunger.

Despite that, they think if big billionaire meanies like Elon Musk just gave away their wealth, the world would solve poverty immediately.

Papa Elon is calling them on their bluff:

Musk was responding to comments by David Beasley, the director of the UN's World Food Programme, who told CNN's "Connect the World" last week that a $6 billion donation from billionaires such as Musk and Jeff Bezos could help 42 million people who he said were "literally going to die if we don't reach them."

Musk is the world's richest man and recently became the first person in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index ever to have an estimated net worth north of $300 billion.

The index currently lists the Tesla CEO's net worth at $311 billion, meaning $6 billion would be 2% of his wealth. Such a donation would still leave him besting the world's second-richest person, Bezos, by at least $100 billion. Both men's net worth consists largely of stock in companies they founded.

All of this charade comes down to jealousy. The U.N. is a largely ineffective, corrupt entity that exists to make a handful of elites feel important. They are jealous of entrepreneurs like Elon who have made a fortune by giving people awesome goods and services without stealing money through taxes.

The Dogefather is willing to play their silly games though:

David Beasley of the U.N. was quick to reply, but ignored Elon's rule that the U.N. must publicly prove how the money will be spent:

Of course, if the United Nations actually showed us how their money is spent, we would immediately defund the United Nations.

Did you know that extreme poverty has actually halved in the past 20 years?

It isn't tax-funded programs from bloated and corrupt bureaucracies that has done it.

It's the free market.

As people innovate and exchange both ideas and goods freely, things that were once only available to the rich become available to the poor, which helps them get a better footing to compete in the global economy.

As they are empowered, the sky becomes the limit!
