The VA is now offering abortions and rent-a-womb arrangements for gay couples with your tax dollars

Fresh off the heels of the VA's robust new abortions policy:

The Department of Veterans Affairs on Monday will finalize its policy of providing abortions to veterans and other beneficiaries in certain cases, including in states that have banned the procedure, according to a federal notice.

Oh, you silly little person who still thinks we live in a constitutional republic, you think the Hyde Amendment banning taxpayer dollars from being used for abortion will stop them?

Many of the [public] comments in opposition to the policy argued the VA does not have the legal authority to provide abortions or that the policy was written broadly enough to allow abortions in any circumstance.

In rejecting changes responding to those comments, the VA argued, as it has in the past, that it has the authority to provide abortions under a 1996 law that allows the department to cover the health care that the VA secretary deems is "needed."

Translation: They do whatever they want.

In case you need more proof, the Susan B. Anthony List (now SBA Pro-Life America) warned us about this last year:

Oh, the federal department will also be bankrolling womb-for-hire services for gay couples:

Background:

The Department of Veterans Affairs expanded access to in vitro fertilization on Monday, saying that eligible unmarried veterans and veterans in same-sex marriages can now access IVF at VA health care facilities. ...

"Raising a family is a wonderful thing, and I'm proud that VA will soon help more Veterans have that opportunity," VA Secretary Denis McDonough said in a written statement. "This expansion of care has long been a priority for us, and we are working urgently to make sure that eligible unmarried Veterans, Veterans in same-sex marriages, and Veterans who need donors will have access to IVF in every part of the country as soon as possible."

As the Washington Post notes, the change comes after "two lawsuits filed against VA last year, which say the department's IVF policies discriminated against LGBTQ+ veterans."

In addition to this policy, Democrats are also pushing the Veteran Families Health Services Act, which would in part "allow the VA to permanently expand which veterans have access to IVF," as well as "provide the option for military members to freeze their eggs or sperm before deployment to combat zones or hazardous duty assignments."

This is the same VA, by the way, that tried to ban the iconic V-Day kiss picture last week from its offices in the name of "tolerance."

This is how far gone our institutions are, my friends.
