This is really where we're at in this country right now. Six people break into a Chanel store in our nation's capital and while, sure, there is an ongoing investigation as to who these six people are and what they stole, we also have an investigation into the security guard who fired a single shot, which likely hit nobody.
Yes, they are investigating a security guard who was trying to protect the high-end store from the burglars.
Here's security footage of the robbery:
Here's what the local news had to say:
The group took an undetermined amount of merchandise and attempted to flee the store when an armed special police officer employed by the store reportedly discharged his weapon. Police do not believe the gunfire struck anyone …
MPD will continue to review security footage of the incident and is also reviewing the security officer's actions to determine if there was excessive use of force.
"Reviewing the security officer's actions to determine if there was excessive use of force."
You call yourself a police force and you're investigating a guy who fired a warning shot at a group of people who were robbing his store?
That's weak sauce, DCPD!
You'll probably gather more information on this officer than you will on the perps.
Shame!
