If you need a pick-me-up today, check out this story about three guys who saved a baby horse in North Carolina.

Some more deets:

Carson, his brother-in-law, Jeff Kipp, and his father-in-law, George Kipp, decided to soak in the sun and enjoy the water on Tuesday, July 13, with a fishing trip in Carova. More than 20 people, including the trio, are in the Outer Banks this week celebrating George and his wife, Mary, having their 50th wedding anniversary.

The fishing trip took an unexpected turn when the fishermen discovered a foal struggling at the seawall of a canal.

Here's what Owen had to say on Facebook:

Already a wild day…we went out to fish and saw a wild foal struggling at the seawall along the canal, her parents frantic at the edge. We knew we needed to help, so we circled around and I hopped out, waded over, and gently guided her around the seawall abutment and to the nearest boat slip, where we awaited the wild horse rescue crew.

Her legs were weak and trembling, but she knew I was helping, I could sense her calming down when I held her. I carried the foal in my arms for a moment and got her to the shallows, then nudged her out to the parents- she immediately went to her mothers teat and drank.

The rescue crew said she's 3 days old, Beatrice is her name.

Here's a photo of Beatrice back with her mom from the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, because you know you need another cute horse pic to end this awesome story:
