These neighbors ended up in small claims court after a heated argument sent one man's dentures over their fence line and the other man refused to give them back

Here's an amazing story out of British Columbia:

Now, when I originally found this story on Reddit it came with this beautiful headline right here: "British Columbia man steals and holds neighbour's denture hostage after a heated argument caused the denture to fly over their shared fence".

I feel like that explains the story a whole lot better.

Yes, the ol' neighbor rivalry!

So get this, this denture-dropping fight started when our defendant, Bob Bjerregaard, went out of his way to break up an argument between two of his neighbors, one being Todd King, our plaintiff.

Bro's just out here trying to make peace in the neighborhood...

After successfully breaking up the fight and sending the unnamed neighbor on his way, King and Bjerregaard began their own argument. And hearing this fierce argument, our unnamed neighbor made his way back to the scene to check it out.

That's when King's dentures flew across the fence line.

Mr. King says that at some point during the disagreement his upper denture came out of his mouth and fell on Mr. Bjerregaard's side of the fence. He says [the unnamed neighbor] went to pick it up, but Mr. Bjerregaard stopped him. Mr. King says Mr. Bjerregaard picked up his denture and refused to return it. He says he called the police to retrieve the denture from Mr. Bjerregaard who denied having it.

I'm sorry, but..

🤣🤣🤣

You kinda deserve not to get your dentures back in this situation.

But with that unnamed neighbor as a witness, Bjerregaard now owes King some cash.

On Tuesday, Bob Bjerregaard was ordered to pay his next-door neighbour $1,829 for a replacement and other costs after the Civil Resolution Tribunal found he took Todd King's fallen denture and refused to return it after their dispute on May 27, 2021.

Moral of the story: if you're going to argue with your neighbor, at least have the decency to take out your dentures first.

It's the gentlemanly thing to do.
