This has to be one of the sweetest stories I've seen on this beautiful website.
A North Carolina animal shelter is trying to find a forever home for a couple of unlikely best friends: a dog named Felix and a goat named Cinnamon.
Is that cute, or what?!?
These two grew up in the same home and are "inseparable" BFFs. And now they've found themselves in an animal shelter as mom and dad are no longer able to care for them.
Seriously, this is an amazing relationship! I mean, look at these two:
I had no idea goats were such social animals. I always just thought it was the corn in my hand at the petting zoo that made them so friendly.
Anyhow, with how cute these two BFFs are, it didn't take long for the North Carolina shelter to find them a home.
Yup, it's together forever for Felix and Cinnamon!
Cinnamon the goat and Felix the dog ended up at the Wake County Animal Center on March 13 after their owner became unable to care for them any longer.
Staff immediately noticed the two were best friends who would play, eat and sleep together. A call was put out on social media to find a rescue partner to keep the two pals together…
Last week it was announced the once-homeless odd couple was getting their happy ending due to the help of a long-time national rescue partners Chris and Mariesa Hughes of the Mr. Mo Project, and a local foster family they had previously worked with.
"We are so blessed to be able to foster Felix and Cinnamon!" Jacqui Bankes, the new proud owner of the dynamic duo, said. "As their forever foster, we are excited to keep them together and also integrate them with our other goats and dogs, after appropriate testing and quarantine."
What great people Chris and Mariesa Hughes must be!
Cinnamon and Felix may not know it, but they just got the gift of a lifetime!
Cheers to the Mr. Mo Project and all who were involved in getting these two best friends a home together, forever.
