How fast can an entire fireworks factory set off all its stock?
Try 30 seconds.
Holy cow!
(India, get it?)
What isn't so funny is why this accident happened in the first place. Apparently, someone inside the fireworks factory started a welding project.
A welding project!
There were people inside that building when it went off, and not all of them made it out.
One person died in the accident, one was sent to the hospital with severe burns.
Witnesses said that the 50-foot explosion felt like an earthquake and could be felt 15 kilometers away (10 miles).
The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the accident and announced a compensation of INR 200,000 ($2,400) for the deceased's next of kin and INR 50,000 ($600) to the injured from the PM's National Relief Fund.
'I am distressed by the loss of lives due to the mishap at a cracker factory in Harda, Madhya Pradesh,' he said. 'Condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones.'
Praying for all involved.
