This Atlanta man was murdered in broad daylight and passersby just ignored his body in a haunting modern version of Jesus' parable

Atlanta police recently released this video showing the moment a random thug walked up behind a man who had just exited his vehicle, shot him in the back of the head, then robbed him and walked calmly away.

A man sitting on the curb a few feet away watched the whole thing, then walked over and shook his head before continuing on his way.

Another group of men then came across the body and proceeded to pick it over for any valuables that were left.

This is the America we are living in:

[Warning: Graphic]

From the FOX 5 Atlanta story:

Just minutes before 7 p.m. on Monday, a high-resolution surveillance camera clearly captured 51-year-old security guard Anthony Frazier getting out of a black GMC parked along the side of the American Wings and Seafood restaurant in a strip mall located at 387 Cleveland Ave SW. He was briefly distracted as he got out of the SUV and headed towards the front of the store wearing his black "Enforcement" shirt.

This haunting and heartbreaking scene reminds me of Jesus' parable about the Good Samaritan.

"And who is my neighbor?" the expert in the law asked Jesus when Jesus told him to love God and love his neighbor.

Jesus replied with a story of a man who had been robbed and left for dead on the side of a dangerous road between Jerusalem and Jericho. After the man's naked body was thrown aside, two men passed him but did nothing, just like the man on the curb in the video.

A priest happened to be going down that road. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way, a Levite, when he arrived at the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.

More from FOX 5:

The gunman then turns around and started to walk towards the woods behind the business. As he walks away from the scene, he turns to an older man who was sitting on the sidewalk some 35 feet away, who was watching the whole thing unfold, completely unmoved by the violence. As the gunman passes, the older man puts up both his hands up towards him. The gunman then dropped something, picked it up, and left the scene.

That older man then walks past the SUV and Fraizer, shaking his head and looking at him without stopping to check on him.

Instead of the Good Samaritan, however, the victim in Atlanta got a mob of vultures that picked clean the corpse.

This is the America that we are living in.

I mean this literally: God help us.
