Dude, this is crazy. This fifth-grader was nearly kidnapped on her way to school and thanks to the neighbor's security camera it was all caught on tape, leading to the eventual arrest of the driver.
Watch:
This happened just before 8 a.m. on Friday and, though terrifying, it looks like the young lady must've had her Wheaties that morning because that was quite the sprint to get away. The man continued to follow her after this initial attempt, but a few classmates came to her side and protected her as they continued on to school.
A man was arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a girl as she walked to school in Glendale on Friday, authorities said …
Police used video footage to help identify 37-year-old Joseph Ruiz as the suspect.
Ruiz was tracked down and taken into custody. He was booked into jail on counts of attempted kidnapping and attempted custodial interference. His bond was set at $25,000.
Such a close call there for this young lady, and who knows what the end result would've been if she hadn't gone into a full sprint when that man got out of the car.
Glad to see that this man is now off the streets and where he belongs.
