This gamer flew from New Jersey to Florida so he could attempt to murder an online rival with a hammer

This takes gaming to a whole other level right here.

This dude got smack-talked on an online video game called ArcheAge, flew his rump from Jersey to Jacksonville, picked up a hammer at an Ace Hardware, and found his way to his online rivals home where he attempted to kill him with the hammer.

Yeah, that's a lot.

Well, I guess some people take online smack-talk a little more seriously than others do. And by that I mean they get on airplanes and attempt murder 1,000 miles away from their home.

A 20-year-old gamer from New Jersey is accused of flying nearly 1,000 miles to try and kill another gamer with a hammer because the two had gotten into an ‘online altercation' while playing video games …

According to a probable cause affidavit, authorities say that following the spat, Kang flew from Newark Liberty International Airport to Jacksonville International Airport to assault the victim, whom he had never before met in person.

Dude checked into a motel, bought a hammer at Ace, and somehow made his way to his victim's home (which was in a gated community where mom and dad leave the doors unlocked most all of the time).

When deputies arrived on the scene at 2 a.m. they saw "a substantial amount of blood located near the entryway and into a bedroom leading to the right of the doorway."

Here's what happened, according to the victim.

‘(The victim) stated he was playing an online game. While playing this game, (the victim) went to use the bathroom and walked toward the doorway of the room and opened the door,' the document states. ‘Once (the victim) opened the door he noticed a person standing with a hammer raised in the air in an anticipated strike position. The suspect, later found to be Edward Kang, struck (the victim) atop the head with this hammer. (The victim) cited remembering being struck once with the hammer but believed it to be several times.'

The two allegedly struggled briefly[,] with the victim managing to get the hammer away from Kang as he screamed for help. The stepfather arrived a few moments later and they were able to detain Kang until police arrived.

Bro tried to surprise kill a kid in his own home and ended up losing the fight and being detained by his victim and his victim's father. And then they held him there until the police arrived.

What a sad excuse for attempted murder.

Both kids were eventually taken to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries - which, again, certifies this as one of the worst attempted murders of all time.

Edward Kang was taken into custody in Florida on Sunday and charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of armed burglary …

Kang is currently being held in the Nassau County Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again on June 27.

"This is a weird one," the local sheriff said, "some things you just can't make up."

And there you have it, folks.

You just can't make it up!

Here's a statement from the Sheriff's office:
