You'd really wish nukes were controlled by our finest, but that's sadly not the case anymore.

Across the pond, a submarine captain who was in charge of nuclear missiles was fired from the Royal Navy after higher-ups found out about his sex tape.

This guy was responsible for a £4 billion Vanguard-class nuclear submarine equipped with Trident Two doomsday weapons.

The sub was known as a "bomber boat."

The Royal Navy has four nuclear-armed submarines. One is always out at sea, ready to respond if Britain ever faces a nuclear attack. And THIS GUY was in charge of one of them!

Instead of focusing on THAT, he's been busy getting busy with a secret affair (while filming it). The captain shared his X-rated video and selfies with a junior sailor on board.

The officer, who had received a prestigious OBE (Order of the British Empire) award for his top-secret work and even met Princess Anne, had already transitioned to a desk job when the explicit footage and photos came to light. He was quickly suspended and then fired under the military's strict "zero tolerance policy" on inappropriate sexual behavior.

The Royal Navy told The Sun that "all forms of unacceptable behavior are taken extremely seriously."

Anything which falls short of the highest standards will not be tolerated.

Anyone who is found culpable will be held accountable for their actions, regardless of their rank or status.

This scandal is yet another hit for the Navy, especially with their ongoing struggle to find enough submarine crew. According to a recent report, the Royal Navy is losing people faster than they can bring in new recruits.
