This is not how police officers should act

This video is out of Alabama, and while it's not the most brutal thing in the world I think you should see it, cuz this officer is straight nutzo. A little context from The New York Post before we get to the video.

[Micah Washington] was charged with obstructing governmental operations, resisting arrest, marijuana possession, drug trafficking and possessing a firearm as an ex-felon, WVTM reported, citing the Pickens County Sheriff's Office.

Here's what not to do if you're an officer of the law, even if your criminal had been acting badly before allowing you to arrest him:

Man, you gotta keep your composure out there, lady. You got the man in handcuffs, now simply finish the job. But don't bully the guy. And my goodness, don't tase him while he's handcuffed face down on the front of your car.

ALSO, DON'T REMOVE A LOADED FIREARM AND THROW IT WILLY-NILLY ONE FOOT AWAY ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR.

His girlfriend (who filmed the video coming up) says all Micah was doing was changing a tire when he was accosted by the officer. We don't know what actually happened to cause the officer to respond, so I'm not going to judge whether the initial use of force and the arrest were justified, but her use of force after the guy was handcuffed was... yeah...

(Why is Alabama sending a lone female officer to arrest guys twice her size anyway?)

With just this one video we've given people an excuse to hate police and a narrative about racism for the media to run. All it takes is one bad apple.

In accordance with City Policy, the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is conducted.

Here's local news coverage of the incident:
