Pollard Middle School in Needham, Massachusetts, just celebrated their 8th-grade students' graduation. What's unusual about this year's class is the number of twins, with 23 sets, plus one student whose twin attended a different middle school, all graduating last week.

The 23 sets of twins made up about 10% of the 8th-grade class, despite twins only making up about 3% of the general population.

School Principal Tamatha Bibbo told the AP,

We typically have anywhere from five to 10 sets at most. Given our numbers, we have approximately 450 to 500 children in each grade so this was extraordinarily high.

One of the sets of twins who graduated were Owen and Cal Hammerstrand. The two brothers say they enjoyed being part of the record number of twins at the school, with Cal telling local news,

I had many twins in some of my classes. I think one time I had six sets of twins in one class. It was very fun to be in a class with that many twins.

His brother Owen added that,

It's very unique seeing how many of our friends turned out to be friends just like us.

All of the twins have plans to begin high school at Needham High School in the fall, so don't be surprised when you see an update to this story in approximately 4 years.
