This MMA fighter straight up LOST A FINGER during a fight and the video is just as gnarly as you'd imagine 😩

So last Thursday night an MMA fight which aired on UFC Fight Pass had to be stopped due to a fighter literally losing his finger.

True story...

During their "opening night" fight, Khetag Pliev and Devin Goodale were just going at it like they were out behind a dive bar or something. It was pretty entertaining. I noticed the announcers get a little upset late in the second round when Goodale started pulling at Pliev's glove, but I thought nothing of it, because if this was an actual bar fight you could pull someone's finger and that wouldn't be a big deal. The worst that could happen is maybe they'd pass gas.

But when the round ended things got a little weird. The fight was called, Goodale the winner by TKO (Detached Finger), and I have to show you this video, because the announcers' reactions are priceless [WARNING: GRAPHIC AND NASTY]:

Yup. That dude's finger is gone.

And I'm not even joking here:

There was an announcement over the PA system instructing people to look around for the missing finger.

Can you imagine finding this dudes finger just sitting in your beer, like, "mmmmm now I've got a red IPA...COOL!"

Actually though, the finger had been stuck inside Pliev's glove the whole time.

And this dude still wanted to keep fighting before the ref called it (because that's just what athletes do):

"In the second round, he caught my glove with one hand and held it," Pliev told ESPN. "I felt my finger snapped. He kept pulling my glove and my finger snapped. We kept fighting. When the second round was finished, I see my [bone] was out in the open. I wanted to keep fighting, because I felt like I had this guy. But the doctor saw that and stopped the fight."

Pliev went in for surgery and the finger is now attached to his body again.

It's gonna be a while before we see another TKO by a detached finger.

Here's the whole video with the finger pulling:
