Ryan and Danielle Gill were driving through a Michigan snowstorm when Danielle told her husband they would not make it to the hospital in time.
About 45 seconds later, their fourth son, Hayes Gill, was born.
The dad, Ryan Gill, told WoodTV:
She basically said, ‘You know baby is coming now,' and so at that point I called 911 and I was talking to dispatch and during that time she was basically delivering the baby and it was, I mean it was a matter of 45 seconds to a minute between the time she said, ‘We're not going to make it,' to the time baby was here. By the time I got out of the car and ran around to the passenger side she was holding him and so we grabbed the towel from the back seat, wrapped him up.
Danielle said that baby Hayes was born while Ryan pulled the car onto the side of the road. She said that everything happened so fast,
I just pulled him out and put him up on my chest.
Thankfully, this was not the mom's first rodeo, as Hayes was her fourth baby boy to deliver. But it's definitely her most memorable delivery.
"Had it been my first and not knowing from previous deliveries I would have been so much more of a wreck than what I was," Danielle Gill said.
The couple was able to continue their drive to the hospital where hospital staff was ready to receive them.
The family is now home with a houseful of boys to continue to keep them on their toes, but it looks like this is one mom who can handle it.
