This is the most sobering thread you'll read all week.
Parents, you don't have to agree, but consider these words:
I've said it, and others have said it: The abuses that we expect kids to tolerate at school would never, ever be acceptable in the adult world. Imagine your co-worker harassing you everyday by calling you profane names and telling you to take your life. It would not stand!
And yet, these children are told to "just ignore her" and "they're just trying to get attention." Every school I have worked in, especially in the last five years, are abuse factories. The adults in charge are either powerless or apathetic.
Not only are the kids being demoralized and abused (or allowed to perpetuate abuse) 7 hours/day, but they can barely read or write or spell. The army of broken, illiterate adults is coming.
This analysis from a Christian mother needs to be taken seriously:
The only thing I'd push back on is that kids need help "getting to heaven," as God alone saves, but we adults are indeed charged with caring for children's souls as well as their bodies. Or did you think Jesus' warning about the millstone was a mere metaphor?
The reality is, this was exactly what public schools were before the pandemic, before all the drag queen story hours, and before the LGBT grooming.
Parents, think long and hard about this.
