This dude's addicted to the game. And by "the game" I mean the shoplifting game.
Some people just can't break the habit, man, and apparently Ryan Rollins is one of those people.
Bro's base salary was $1.7 million and he's out here stealing what amounted to less than $1,000 worth of Target merchandise.
Guard Ryan Rollins, who the Washington Wizards released on Monday, is being accused of shoplifting from a Target store on multiple occasions, according to court documents.
The documents, filed in Alexandria General District Court and first viewed by The Athletic, assert that Rollins allegedly committed the crimes seven times between Sept. 9-Nov. 9.
He was charged with seven counts of petit larceny.
The former Wizards point guard โ who had a base salary of $1.7 million this year, according to Spotrac โ is alleged to have taken small household items that include groceries, body wash and candles.
The items he is alleged to have stolen are all valued at less than $1,000, which classifies it as a Class 1 misdemeanor in the state of Virginia.
Bro got dropped by the Wizards for stealing from Target!
Now he could face 12 months in jail or "a fine of not more than $2,500," or both.
This was Rollins' second year in the NBA and he's officially recorded more steals at Target than he's had on the hardwood. Crazy numbers right there.
And bro,
Candles?
What?!?!
Who in their right mind steals a candle?
Like, I know Valentine's Day is coming up, but still, why not use some of that fresh $1.7 mil?
Like I said before, stealing is addicting. Kleptomania is a real thing.
Kleptomania: A recurrent urge to steal, typically without regard for need or profit.
So sure, I'll give Ryan the benefit of the doubt here, but that doesn't mean I won't show you some of the best content the internet has created in response to this man's kleptomania.
A lot of peeps saying he was in the back stealing from the Warriors in this vid:
Man, I kinda feel bad for this kid, but hopefully he can find a way out of his kleptomania and get himself back on the court where stealing is more than acceptable.
