This New York City man lost his wallet and the $1,400 inside. Luckily a Jewish family picked it up and was nice enough to return it.

We've all been in the position: You've lost your wallet, your ID is gone, you've got to cancel all your credit cards…

And you're out $1,400 cash!?!?

Nope, honestly can't say I've ever been in this position.

But Christopher Collins of the Bronx has.

Check it out:

So Christopher Collins was out on Governor's Island last week and, some way or another, ended up losing track of his wallet. And oh, did I mention? The wallet had inside it $1,400 cash.

(K, here's the part where I just go ahead and assume Collins is hoarding cash like the rest of us and that he had recently been to the bank. I'll ask no further questions. Thank you for your time.)

Anywho, a Hasidic family from Brooklyn happened to be out at Governor's Park on Thursday, and they came across this exact, slightly obese wallet. They noticed the $1,400 inside—how could you not?—and thought, well, the best thing to do in this situation is to just give the thing back. So they made it happen.

On Thursday, the Hasidic couple from Brooklyn were on an outing on Governors Island with their children when they found a wallet full of $1,400 in cash.

They contacted State Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein, who was able to track down the owner of the wallet, a man named Christopher Collins from the Bronx.

Now that's impressive!

I know a number of people who would've at least grabbed a few hundred out of there and then casually turned it in like nothing happened.

But these folks just gave it back, no funny business.

And I commend them for that.

Here's a video of the dude who found the wallet returning it to Mr. Collins:

Collins had this to say:

"I'm thankful for the people that found my wallet. I'm thankful to find out that there are people out there that care enough, and that a human being should give me back my wallet with all my things in it. I appreciate the gesture so much."

Just beautiful stuff!

In times like these, it's great to see an uplifting feel-good story like this one.

Keep it up, humans!
