This wedding couple hired an owl as their ring bearer. It stole their rings and watched them cry for hours.

Apparently, in our "we don't like children" culture, there's this thing people are doing at weddings where they replace the cute boy carrying a pillow with a trained owl to bear the rings to the altar.

The ritual is supposed to look something like this:

Admittedly, that's an unforgettable memory right there!

Except, of course, that these people are pinning their whole wedding ceremony on the whims of what is a wild animal.

And wild animals are known to do wild things.

For example, this owl at a ceremony near Kirkstall Abbey in England, who stole the couple's rings, flew to the top of the Abbey, and sadistically watched them and their 50 wedding guests cry for 7 hours.

Onlooker Callum Russell videoed the smug owl perched above the abbey.

'It seemed like they were ready to do the rings but the owl went away. He flew on top of the abbey and stayed there all night.'

'… There was a pro handler trying to lure him down with a piece of chicken.'

'… It was a mix between devastation for them [the couple], but I was in hysterics and the handler was so professional about the whole thing.'

The owl did eventually fly down to the handler, and the couple retrieved their rings.

Arguably, their wedding will be more memorable now than if the owl had cooperated.

But it won't be as memorable as this owl ring bearer that attacked one of the guests:

I've been to a lot of weddings in my life, and I've never seen a four-year-old kid do that!
