I like to consider myself a bit of a punnoiseur. Mix a pun with a little dark humor, and I'll chuckle myself silly.
The two humors compliment one another like a fruity pinot served alongside a bloody-rare prime rib.
But some people just take dark-humor too far.
For example, Toledo man Brent Wood rented a U-Haul and drove it to a Washington D.C. synagogue. He pulled the truck past the parking barriers in front of the doors. Then tried to open the doors.
They were locked as the building was in the process of being evacuated because of a bomb threat that had been emailed earlier.
When Wood spotted a man leaving the building, he sprayed the man with a stinky substance. A woman on a run and another woman walking her dog were also sprayed.
It turned out that Wood was spraying them with fart spray.
On all three occasions, Wood yelled,
"Gas the Jews!"
When the man and women didn't laugh at his stinker, and instead ran away from him in fear, he screamed:
"You're no fun!"
Turns out the police weren't any fun either.
Wood was arrested and charged with simple assault/hate crime and resisting arrest.
I'd ask what could make a person do something so stupid, but the reports say Wood was recording himself spraying people with fart spray while he delivered his awful pun, so I think it‘s a safe assumption he imagined the video going viral.
Well, congratulations, Bubba!
