"Tolkien is turning in his grave": Elon Musk has thoughts about Amazon's new LOTR series πŸ‘€

Okay, I wasn't gonna hit you with more Lord of The Rings stuff, but then Elon went and broke the internet with this:

So yeah, now we gotta talk about it (all you non-nerds can tap out here).

Elon Musk and Amazon's Jeff Bezos have a bit of competition as both the world's richest dudes and aspiring space explorers, but I'm not gonna say Elon is wrong.

Watch the first two episodes of "Rings of Power." It's a pretty fantasy series. I think they really made something that looks beautiful.

But underneath it all is intersectional woke mehness. Galadriel is the typical "SLAY, QUEEN!" stereotype who proves to the weak, ineffectual men around her that women are better than them at pretty much everything.

Elrond mansplains, Galadriel goes full Karen

None of the male characters so far are dudes who reflect real men – the type of hard, wise men who make and order the world by learning the value and meaning of sacrifice, discipline, and obedience.

In fact, in one scene, [Mild Spoilers] the male elves following Galadriel literally lay down their swords and give up their quest, which I'm sure isn't symbolic for anything.

I'm asking the men out there: Does this series make you feel like you felt when you watched this?

Or this?

Arise, arise, Riders of ThΓ©oden! Fell deeds awake, fire and slaughter! spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!

Or this?

In short, "Rings of Power" seems like another [yawn] show about female empowerment by jettisoning men.

But we live in a time and society where men are tapping out from life – literally – as they are inundated by darkness and addiction and told they are nothing more than worthless heaps of trash. They deeply need inspiration.

Tolkien fought in WWI and watched WWII unfold as he wrote LOTR. He knew darkness – the type of abject, hellish darkness that our woke overlords only play at.

He also knew that courage, sacrifice, love, and brotherhood still exist, and that there is beauty that no darkness can touch. He knew how to create both male and female characters that reflect our deepest hopes, reminding us all how to be brave together.

Until these showrunners can do that, Sauron himself remains the only compelling male character in their show – and that, my friends, might be the point.
