In Trump's unrelenting crusade to clean up our government, this latest firing is an interesting one.
Trump has now told Carla Hayden, the Librarian of Congress appointed by Obama in 2016, to take a hike.
Hayden famously brought Lizzo to the Library of Congress in 2022, and loaned her the crystal flute of founding father James Madison.

Hayden confirmed she was fired via email from the White House deputy director of presidential personnel, in a message that read:
Carla, on behalf of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that your position as the Librarian of Congress is terminated effective immediately. Thank you for your service.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries was outraged at the firing, saying:
Donald Trump's unjust decision to fire Dr. Hayden in an email sent by a random political hack is a disgrace and the latest in his ongoing effort to ban books, whitewash American history and turn back the clock.
But wait, her record is even worse than you thought.
She also resisted federal efforts to put porn blockers on public library computers, saying they would have "restricted patrons' access to health information."
Seems like this firing was long overdue.
