And now Trump has at least put one theory to rest.
He's not going to run for vice president in 2028, have his president step down from office, and then take over as president ...
Because "it's too cute."

I do believe the point is moot, however, because just read the last sentence of the 12th Amendment:
But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice President of the United States.
The 22nd Amendment makes Trump constitutionally ineligible to be president again.
