Former Twitter employees file $500 million lawsuit against company, claim they did not receive promised severance

The Twitter workers who lost their jobs in the wake of Elon Musk's upending of the company are very keen on getting a major payout for their troubles:

Twitter Inc on Wednesday was hit with a lawsuit accusing it of refusing to pay at least $500 million in promised severance to thousands of employees who were laid off after Elon Musk acquired the company.

Five hundred million is, well - -

The suit, filed by former Twitter benefits manager Courtney McMillian, claims that a 2019-era benefits agreement required the company to pay out at least two months' worth of severance, and up to six for senior employees, in the event of a firing.

The suit alleges that many employees received just one month of payouts, while others received none at all.

The company responded to a request for comment with a poop emoji.

I know that's the standard reply for all emails asking for comment, but still...

😂
