WHAT? Twitter just reinstated Covid critic Alex Berenson after a permanent suspension, admitting he shouldn't have been suspended

In a shocking and rare turn of events, Twitter has just reversed course and removed a suspension from one of their most high-profile banned users.

Former NYT writer Alex Berenson has spent the last couple of years making the censors on social media big mad with his Covid reporting.

He has controversial takes on Covid and the vaccines which made the corporate overlords at Twitter and the "trust the science" community very upset, resulting in a permanent suspension.

That is, until today.

Berenson filed a federal lawsuit against Twitter, but his post doesn't mention if this was the reason for the reinstatement.

Let's get the official statement - the reinstatement statement - out of the way first:

"The parties have come to a mutually acceptable resolution. I have been reinstated. Twitter has acknowledged that my tweets should have not led to my suspension at that time."

Twitter admitted they were wrong.

This is VERY unexpected.

To recap: last August, Twitter banned me after I got five strikes under its Covid-19 misinformation policy. Which meant I'd supposedly made "claims of fact" that were "demonstrably false or misleading" and "likely to impact public safety or cause serious harm" (that's the policy, that's what it takes to get a strike, look it up).

Now we come to find those tweets "should not have led to my suspension"?

Oopsie.

Hey, everybody makes mistakes.

This "mistake" was clearly not a mistake.

Berenson has been a target of the Covid crazies for years.

You know what it took Twitter to admit it shouldn't have done what it did?

You do not, and I can't tell you, because the statement is all I can say about the settlement.

So, Berenson won big against Twitter in just getting his account back.

It's good to see someone fight back and win against Big Tech.

Hopefully, Elon will take over and make sure these "mistakes" don't happen again.
