British Navy mistakes farting whale for Russian submarine spy drone

Vladimir Putin has the whole Western world spooked these days. So much so, that the British Navy was convinced a whale was a Russian spy drone.

Why?

Because it farted!

The Brits picked up two toots on their sonar, and immediately went into full panic mode, sure that Russia's deep-sea research unit, known as GUGI, had dropped sub drones off their coast to spy on their underwater assets.

'We are taking it very seriously,' a navy source told The Sun. 'We have to assume the worst.'

But those toots turned out to be nothing more than whale farts.

'We have been analyzing the sounds and now believe it was a marine mammal. A whale,' the official told the British newspaper.

Of course, the internet had thoughts.

Personally, I don't see why it couldn't still be the Russians.

I know it's been awhile since Hvladimir passed away, but let's not forget the Russians use whales as spies.

By writing off those whale toots, the British might be playing right into their fins.
