Ukraine says it shot down 5 Russian planes and an attack helicopter. Here are some updated videos of what's happening on the ground.

On Thursday morning, Ukraine claimed that it had shot down at least 5 Russian warplanes and a military helicopter, with additional Russian losses reported on the ground.

A number of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians have also been reported killed across the country as Putin continues to launch all-out war on the nation.

Russia has launched attacks on multiple airports to destroy Ukrainian air capabilities, including this scene from Hostomel that is pretty much straight out of Call of Duty:

There were also several jets spotted in active combat flight over Kyiv, although there has been debate on whether these craft are Ukrainian, Russian, or both:

This is reportedly a video of Russian attack helicopters firing flares as they experience resistance during their assault:

A video purportedly showing a downed Russian helicopter near Kyiv was also circulating on Twitter, meaning Ukraine still has some anti-air capabilities despite the Russian blitz.

Russia also shot down at least one Ukrainian plane, with others reported:

In the meantime, civilians are scrambling to leave the cities, with neighboring countries such as Poland setting up services for refugees.

For the moment, air traffic in Europe has been completely diverted around Ukraine, which is probably a good idea – what with the cruise missiles and dogfights in the skies...
