Ukraine is banning "War and Peace" and other novels "promoting Russian propaganda" from schools and libraries

Ukraine's first deputy Minister of Education Andrey Vitrenko recently announced all literature "promoting Russian propaganda" will be removed from Ukrainian libraries and will be replaced by Ukrainian books.

"All these will be completely excluded from foreign literature," Vitrenko said in an interview with the TV channel Ukraine 24. "So, for example, ‘War and Peace,' this will not be studied in Ukraine anymore."

Vitrenko's comments come after an announcement last month by Kiev's Ministry of Culture and Information Policy which originally announced the removal of literature "promoting Russian propaganda."

Ukraine's Ministry of Education is still developing its list of banned literature, probably because it took so long for them to finish reading through "War and Peace" in the first place... And who could really fault them for that?

There's no telling when they'll finish that list.
