Unclaimed Baggage Museum opens in Alabama with absolutely bizarre finds

The Unclaimed Baggage store in Scottsboro, Alabama just celebrated the grand opening of its new Unclaimed Baggage Museum.

Unclaimed Baggage is the only retailer of unclaimed luggage in the nation and has been selling the contents of abandoned suitcases since 1970 in its retail location.

Unsurprisingly, during the past 53 years they have collected quite a few unusual things in the process.

Like these weird props from the weird movie Labyrinth:

And even weirder, these actual shrunken heads:

I can only imagine what kind of crazy travel experience the archeologist or witch doctor who checked this bag must have gone through to never come back and claim their suitcase.

Obviously, you can't just sell shrunken heads, even in a glorified thrift store, so the museum was a no-brainer for the quirky retailer.

Bryan Owens, CEO of Unclaimed Baggage, said in a statement,

People are endlessly curious about the variety and wonder of items discovered in unclaimed bags. We've seen it all. Our store is like an archeological dig, with unclaimed treasures telling stories about people and culture over time and from all parts of the world.

The museum exhibit will be a permanent fixture at the Unclaimed Baggage store, which itself has become a unique fixture in the small town of Scottsboro.

Anyone up for a road trip?
