Unelected obscenely rich guy Bill Gates is sad to say your bars and restaurants are going to need to stay closed. Ted Cruz SHREDS him for it.

Bill Gates appeared on Jake Tapper's "State Of The Union" show on Sunday to say that bars and restaurants will need to stay closed. Who put Bill Gates in charge, you might ask? Good question.

On the program, Tapper (who is reportedly worth $8 million himself) asked one of the richest men in the universe, Bill Gates, if states should consider taking "the kind of drastic action we saw when the pandemic first began? Or can there be a more nuanced approach?"

Ok, I'm going to stop you right there, chief.

Why are we asking Bill Gates? Does he hold political office? Does he set the rules for how America is supposed to respond to COVID-19? I get it that he's a big fan of global pandemics, but I don't remember voting for Bill Gates. Do you?

But that didn't stop the Microsoft mega-billionaire from telling us what's going to happen anyway.

"Bars and restaurants in most of the country will be closed as we go into this wave. And I think, sadly, that's appropriate."

"Sadly, that's appropriate."

Sadly appropriate is how you describe the ugly tuxes the groomsmen are wearing at your cousin's wedding. Destroying the lives of small business owners and their staff is not sadly appropriate, you out of touch billionaire!

I hate the way these guys speak about these shutdowns as though they are inevitabilities. It's a choice to force small businesses to close. And it's a choice that these soul-crushing, business-smashing orders just somehow never seem to apply to giant corporations, Lefty journalists supporting them, or the politicians who are issuing the dictates.

That's why I appreciated these words from Ted Cruz. The dude goes after both Gates AND Tapper. Check it out:

Leftists: a millionaire & a billionaire discuss how they think its "appropriate" to destroy & bankrupt small businesses across America.

Tell you what...halt ALL salaries at CNN & Microsoft, stop paying Dem politicians & then let's see if they think TWO MORE YEARS shutdown is OK.

Hey, there's an interesting idea! And while we're at it how about we do the same for all of the financially insulated politicians who are making these orders too?

Here's the full interview.

(Warning: Only watch it if you're not worried about your blood pressure.)
