United Methodist Church slashes budget to smallest in 40 years after mass exodus from denomination

Go woke, go broke: Church Edition.

The UMC is going to have its smallest budget in 4 decades thanks to its unbiblical stances.

After four years of U.S. churches heading for the exits, United Methodists are rethinking ministry expenses at all levels of the denomination.

That includes the general church โ€” with the denomination's financial leaders meeting Feb. 19-20 to shrink further what was already going to be the smallest proposed denominational budget in decades.

The three-year $346.7 million budget for the General Conference is the smallest budget they've had since 1984. This shouldn't be shocking since nearly 25% of the UMC churches in the US have left the mainline denomination in the last few years.

The last time the General Conference met, way back in 2016, the budget approved was over $600 million, making this a 43% decrease in budget. So, nearly 1/4 of churches and nearly 1/2 of the money is gone.

Add to the 7,700 churches that have left another 2,000+ churches that have essentially died out and financially gone under, and the UMC is in a disastrous state. It might not survive a few more years.

Maybe this inevitable divine judgment for abusing the Word of God will serve as a warning for other churches that are scrambling to inject the woke gospel of Satan into their teachings.

Pride goeth before the fall.
