A family in Iowa almost lost their two dogs last week, but a Good Samaritan happened by at just the right time.

The family's two dogs, Groot and Remy, had become trapped under a solar cover on the family's above-ground pool when UPS driver Colin Mitchell stopped by their house on his delivery route and heard the commotion from the dogs.

He knocked on the door, but when no one answered, he entered the backyard and found the two dogs treading water beneath the pool cover. He was able to quickly get the dogs out of the water and return to his route.

The family says that if Mitchell had not stopped by, their dogs would have been trapped in the pool for at least 3 more hours. They have since reached out to thank Mitchell for his quick action in rescuing their dogs.

Mitchell definitely went above and beyond the call of duty.

Someone at UPS, please give this man employee of the month, he deserves it.
